Covr Limited Warranty
Cover Blinds LLC · 10513 N Iverson Ln, Highland, UT 84003
At a glance: covered parts are free for 5 years, and visits for a defect or our install are free for 3 years. Claims are made in writing. The full terms below are what count.
This warranty covers Covr motorized shades (roller and zebra) bought from Cover Blinds LLC for a home. It is given to the original buyer only, at the home where the shades were installed, and does not pass to a later owner of the home. If a home builder buys the shades for a home it sells, the first homeowner counts as the original buyer. Shades bought for a business get their own terms in writing. Warranty work is done by Cover Blinds or a technician we send.
Each term counts from the day we install the shade, shown on the receipt for your final payment (or from delivery, if you bought without our install); a shade remade before your install is finished counts from the day it goes up. A part or shade replaced under this warranty is covered for the rest of the original term. This version applies to every order whose signed order agreement names version 5.
What we cover
- Product: 5 years. If the shade, fabric, hardware (brackets, tube, bottom bar, cassette and side channels), motor, built-in battery, or a remote, wall switch, hub or charging cable bought with your shades fails from a defect in materials or manufacturing within 5 years of install, we repair or replace it at no charge for the part. For the built-in battery, a defect means it will not take a charge, or a full charge lasts less than 4 weeks when the shade is opened and closed twice a day.
- Service: 3 years. For 3 years after install, if a covered part fails or our installation work is not right, we come out and fix it at no charge.
- If a part or fabric is no longer made, we use one of equal or better quality and function. A replacement fabric may not match your other shades exactly.
- Bought without our install: if you bought Covr shades from us without our install, covered parts are mailed to you free for the 5-year product term, counted from delivery. Service visits are not included; if you later want us to come out, we quote that visit's labor in writing first. Sizes you measured are your responsibility.
How service works
- During the service term, free visits are for real defects and for our install. A visit for anything else is charged at our service rates at that time, and we tell you the cost in writing first, so you can decide whether to book it.
- Connection and app problems (Wi-Fi, phone app, smart-home or voice assistant setup) are handled remotely first, by a video call we set up with you. If that does not fix a covered defect, we come out. Changes to your router, Wi-Fi, phone or smart-home system are not a defect, and neither are changes or shutdowns of apps, voice assistants or smart-home platforms made by other companies.
- From year 4 through year 5, covered parts stay free. Visits and labor are charged at our service rates at that time, quoted before we come out. Where it makes sense, we can mail you the part instead.
- Remotes, wall switches, hubs and charging cables are usually replaced by mail. We pay shipping on any covered part we mail to you.
What is not covered
- Solar panels. They are not covered by this limited warranty, except that a panel that does not work when we install it is replaced. Your shade can always be charged with its cable.
- Needing to charge the battery. Charging is normal use, not a defect. Gradual loss of battery capacity over time is normal wear, not a defect, as long as a full charge still passes the 4-week test above.
- Batteries inside remotes and wall switches.
- Damage from misuse, accidents, children, pets, or forcing the shade by hand.
- Signs that usually point to misuse include a bent bottom bar, torn or creased fabric, brackets pulled from the wall, or water or impact damage to the motor.
- Normal wear, normal fading from sunlight, and small differences in fabric color between batches.
- Damage caused by moving, reinstalling, cutting, or repairing by anyone other than Cover Blinds.
- Cleaning damage, water damage, power surges, and damage from heat sources.
How to make a claim
- Send your claim in writing: the warranty form on our website, coverblinds.com, an email to warranty@coverblinds.com, or a letter to the address above. Claims are taken in writing only, not by phone or text.
- Include a photo or video of the problem and your install date. We use the install date on the receipt for your final payment.
- We review it, may set up a video call with you when it could be a setting, and tell you what is covered before any visit.
Limits of this warranty
Our only duty under this warranty is to repair or replace covered parts and give the service described above. Any implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, last only as long as the 5-year product term of this warranty. If we damage your home while installing or servicing your shades, we fix it or pay for the repair as your order agreement says, and nothing in this warranty limits that. Except for personal injury, we are not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
